Booking & surveys
How do I get a quote?
Request a survey — in person or by video — and we'll see exactly what's moving before we price it. You'll get a clear, written, no-obligation quote afterwards. There's no charge for the survey.
What's the difference between an in-person and a video survey?
An in-person survey is a visit to your home, best for larger or more complex moves. A video survey is a scheduled call where you walk us through your home on your phone — quick and convenient, and well suited to smaller moves. Both are free.
How far in advance should I book?
The earlier, the better, particularly for moves at the end of the month or around a Friday, when demand is highest. As soon as you have a likely date, get in touch, and we'll hold it where we can. CLIENT TO CONFIRM: typical lead times.
Pricing & deposits
Why don't you show prices online?
Because no two moves are the same. Cost depends on volume, access at both ends, distance and any specialist handling. A fixed online price would misprice most moves. We survey first, then quote precisely, with no hidden fees.
Do you take a deposit?
CLIENT TO CONFIRM: deposit policy and payment terms. Set this out clearly here and in the Terms & Conditions.
Is the quote fixed?
What we quote is what you pay, unless the move itself changes — for example, if the volume turns out larger than surveyed or access changes. We'll always tell you before any change to the price.
Packing & materials
Can you pack for me?
Yes. We can pack the whole home, usually the day before the move, or pack the fragile items only and leave the rest to you. We can also unpack at the new address and take the packing away.
What materials do you use?
Double-wall boxes, wardrobe cartons, mattress and sofa covers, bubble wrap and acid-free tissue for delicate items — matched to what they're protecting. For antiques and art we use acid-free and museum-grade materials.
Can I buy packing materials from you to pack myself?
CLIENT TO CONFIRM: whether materials are sold, loaned, or both, and how to order them.
Insurance & liability
Are my belongings insured?
We'll explain exactly what cover your move includes. There's an important difference between liability cover, which caps what we pay per item, and full transit insurance, which protects your belongings for their actual declared value. CLIENT TO CONFIRM: the cover MÜVR carries.
What about high-value items?
High-value items — art, antiques, jewellery, premium electronics — should be declared so they're properly covered rather than limited to a standard per-item cap. We'll help you list them when we survey.
Storage
Can you store my belongings between moves?
Yes. We offer secure, inventoried storage in sealed containers, for a few weeks between moves or for the longer term. CLIENT TO CONFIRM: own warehouse vs partner facility.
Is storage insured separately?
Storage cover is separate from transit cover. We'll explain what's included and what you may want to add for valuable items. CLIENT TO CONFIRM: storage insurance basis.
Moving day
What time will you arrive?
Your move manager confirms the timings in advance and keeps you updated through the day. Most local moves are completed in a single day.
Do you protect the property?
Yes. We cover floors, banisters, doorways and lift interiors before anything is lifted, at both ends.
Will you reassemble my furniture?
Yes. Furniture we dismantled is rebuilt at the new address, beds included, with every part photographed and labelled so it goes back together exactly as it came apart.
Parking & permits
Do I need to arrange parking for the van?
Leave it to us. Where a move needs a parking suspension or a permit, we arrange it as part of the plan, having checked access at both ends during the survey. CLIENT TO CONFIRM: whether suspension costs are included or passed on.
What if access is difficult?
Narrow streets, restricted lanes and upper-floor flats are common in London, and we plan for them — the right vehicle, the right approach and the right equipment, agreed before the day.
Cancellation
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Most removals are booked at a distance or after a home survey, which generally gives you a 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you want the move to go ahead inside that 14-day window, we'll ask you to confirm that in writing, and explain that you may have to pay for work already done if you then cancel. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions. CLIENT TO CONFIRM / SOLICITOR: cancellation, rescheduling and early-start wording.
